California Insurance Company Customer Complaints

If you live in California, you may need to be aware of California insurance company customer complaints that have occurred in your state. You may even have some complaints of your own. But it is important to know what others are complaining about as well.

When one insurance company has several of the same complaints, it is a red flag that signals that there may be a problem with the insurance company. Companies with high justifiable complaint rates should be avoided. This is why it is important to know what the complaints are.

Failure to pay claims, or claims that are not paid for a long period of time could be a problem for you in the future. Many insurance companies offer low rates, but when an accident occurs, they can’t be bothered with you – they are too busy selling those low rate policies to others. Raising premiums, which are often doubled, is another problem. Your insurance agent could even be embezzling your premiums – and you won’t know it until there is an accident, and you find out that you aren’t covered at all!

The California Department of Insurance is responsible for regulating insurance companies in the state of California, and all complaints should be made to them. They investigate insurance fraud, and investigate and mediate consumer complaints. If you can’t get your California insurance company to do what they are supposed to do, the California Department of Insurance can.
